What is this page?
We provide AWS accounts for our take-home assignments. These accounts provide you with a safe environment to deploy your assignment.
This document demonstrates our policies and guidelines for using the accounts, including restrictions on cost, usage, and access to resources. By adhering to these policies, we aim to provide a safe, reliable, and efficient platform for all users. Please take the time to read and understand, and feel free to reach out to the Internal-IT team if you have any questions or concerns.
What are your responsibilities?
- Tagging Resources: you are responsible for applying mandatory tags to all of your resources on AWS with respect to Guides: How to use DataChef's Tagging strategies? . If you don't tag your resources, we might delete your resources with or without prior notice.
- Cost usage: Monitoring cost usage is a shared responsibility between you and us. While you are responsible for monitoring the cost of accounts that you have access to, we also monitor all accounts' daily costs. If you spend more than $25 during your THA period, we might nuke or delete some/all of your resources without prior notice.
- Abuse and harm: You shall not use our accounts to harm DataChef or anyone else. If you do, we immediately ban you from accessing all of our accounts.
What restrictions should you expect?
What do we promise?
- We won’t surprise you (with bad news): As long as you follow this live document, you will be fine. All our reactions (like revoking access, deprovisioning, etc) are documented clearly here, and we limit ourselves only to these reactions and nothing further (or undocumented).
- The best effort to open doors for you before you get there: While we cannot guarantee access to every service or resource, We are committed to doing everything within our power to ensure that you have all the necessary access you need to perform your job effectively.
- We are reachable: If your access to a service is restricted, contact us on the dedicated Slack channel, and we will help you.
